Etter at Hirvonen måtte ligge foran hele siste etappen og børste vei ble det som forventet Loeb som vant Rally Australia. Mikko Hirvonen kjørte inn til annenplass med Dani Sordo på tredje. Trodde alle!!! I en teknisk sjekk etter løpet ble det funnet en ikke-homologert del i velteburet til Loeb. Dette førte til en tidsstraff på 1min for alleCitroën bilene. Hirvonen vant dermed og økte ledelsen i sammendraget til 5 poeng.
Henning Solberg hadde tekniske problemer idag og endte til slutt på syvendeplass.
